QUOTES

RACER – Jay Wilson

“The track was awesome over in Woodville, it was a natural terrain circuit that was super fast and you had to really be on your game to be up front,” said Wilson.

“In the 125 class I picked up 2-2-2 results which gave me second overall to New Zealand racer, Kayne Lamont.

“In the 250 class, I was moving through the field in race one, and was in second position when a mechanical issue hit which meant I had to DNF.  I then went on to win the next two races which moved me up to fourth overall.

“I really enjoyed coming over to NZ, it was a great challenge and the competition was tough, which always helps you improve on speed and technique.”

TEAM MANAGER – Glenn Macdonald

“This was a great experience for Jay and good race preparation in the lead up to the Sunshine State Series, which kicks off next weekend.

“Jay has had a good break during the off season and is keen to get stuck into the racing season, which will be his last year in the junior ranks.

“The team support over in New Zealand is to be commended, especially with assistance from AFC Motorcycles in Palmerston North who supplied the race bikes, so a big thanks on behalf of GMR Motorex KTM goes out to everyone there who pitched in to help Jay achieve a podium.”
